Freddie was born and raised in Branchville SC, the youngest of five children. As a child she enjoyed the support of a numerous extended family in a small Low Country SC town. Freddie graduated from Winthrop College in 1949 with a Home Economics degree and remained a lifelong loyal and proud alumnus. She worked for many years as a preschool teacher, salesperson at Rich’s, and as a senior center director.
Freddie was married to Eugene H. Reilley, Jr of Charlotte, NC for 62 years and moved 7 times during his General Electric career. They had three children whom she lovingly nurtured with her devoted maternal care. With her friends and family Freddie shared her love of Christianity, nature, birdwatching, music, theatre, art, travel, needlework and home cooking.
Freddie was much beloved by her family and friends. Her charm, hospitality, thoughtfulness, and generosity provided a wonderful example that will be greatly missed. She is survived by her three children, Rosalyn Reilley of Atlanta, Gene Reilley of Atlanta, and Marie Presser of Panama City FL, as well as six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Freddie will be buried beside her husband at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family plans to have a memorial service on December 4th, 2021 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers we are requesting donations be made to the National Audubon Society.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.woodstockfuneralhome.com for the REILLEY family.
