George Edward Sammond

Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Woodstock Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Vic from St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery with Woodstock Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home Wednesday, March 12, 2014.

Mr. Sammond was born December 3, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Harry and Alice Cox Sammond. Mr. Sammond faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army. George was employed with Stearn Brothers, and Mammoth Mart as a toy buyer and distributor. Later in life after moving to Woodstock, GA. he was employed with Eckerd Drugs as a store manager.

Mr. Sammond was preceded in death by his son, Peter Sammond in 2009.

Mr. Sammond is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jean Sammond, Woodstock; two sons, Michael Sammond, Suwanee, GA; Chris Sammond (Erika), Cincinnati, OH; one sister, Barbara Perry, Mansfield, CT; five grandchildren, Tony, Cameryn, Noah, Connor, and Chloe Sammond; several nieces and nephews.
