Gloria M Muniz, was born on April 9, 1940 in Cayey, Puerto Rico. In 1955, Gloria moved to the Bronx, New York where she devoted many years to raising the family and becoming a very successful woman. In 1997, after living the fast paced life in New York, she opted for a more peaceful life and moved to the State of Georgia.
Unfortunately 8 years ago Gloria suffered a stroke, which she sadly never recovered from. She spent the rest of her life in the most loving home being cared for by her younger sister Wanda, niece Alexandria, and nephews Jordan and Justin. Along with wonderful nurses and doctor who all did the best to keep her comfortable to the best of their loving and caring abilities. Sadly, she passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 18, 2022 after spending several days surrounded by family.
Gloria was a wonderful woman with a heart of gold. It didn’t matter if you were family, friend, or stranger, she would treat you as if you were her own. Loving, friendly, and faithful are just a few of many words that describe her. Entering her home was just like entering you own, everything that was hers was yours and even offered you more. From her home-cooked meals, to the many stories she would share, she was a blessing to be around. She was always so caring and thoughtful. For Halloween she would hand make goodie bags for the neighborhood kids. Christmas and birthdays, she would only use the best wrapping paper and make sure that her bow designs were at the highest of standards. Gloria was the type of woman that did not cut corners. She made sure that everything she did was perfect and nothing less. This world did not deserve her, we were blessed to have her.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Juan Miguel Torres and Luisa Maria Leon; sister, Irma Torres de Resto; brother, Jose Luis Torres Leon; son, Robert Muniz.
Gloria is survived by her 2 sons, Carlos Javier Muniz 9 (Amy) and Jose A Castro Torres (Elainne); daughter, Gloria E Castro Torres; 2 grandchildren, Matthew Charles Muniz and Christopher Muniz; 2 sisters, Wanda I Torres and Julia Leon; 2 nieces, Alexandria Rivera and Maria Marzocchi (Peter); 3 great nephews Matthew Marzocchi (Carrie), Jordan A Barreto (Rie), and Justin A Barreto; 2 great nieces Rachel Marie Rudolph (Adam) and Christina D Menendez (Jacob); many other nieces and nephews. Gloria will be missed dearly by all those who loved her.
