

Mr. Howard Franklin Kelley, 88, of Woodstock, GA passed away August 24, 2014. He was born in Morgantown, WV on July 7, 1926 to the late Ewart and Isa Kelley. Kelley left high school to join the United States Navy. He honorably served during WWII on PT boats in the Pacific Theater. After his service, Kelley moved back to Morgantown where he worked as a carpenter and started his family. Kelley worked very hard and served as the superintendent on several projects, including West Virginia Wesleyan College, high schools and hospitals. He was a partner at WYK Associates, an architectural firm in Clarksburg, WV. Kelley retired in 1994 and then in 1996, he moved to Woodstock, GA. He enjoyed gardening, playing the guitar and was an avid WVU fan. He was an active member at Woodstock United Methodist Church, had a wonderful sense of humor and was extremely intelligent. Kelley will be missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife Wilda Kelley and first wife Beulah Kelley. He leaves behind sons, Dennis Kelley (Jeanie) and Rodney Kelley (BJ), daughters, Karen King, Brenda Sharp (Jerry), Joy Pierce (Rick) and Deborah Bentley (John), 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 6-8pm at Woodstock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 11:00am at Woodstock Funeral Home with a reception to follow. The family will also receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from 5-8pm at Dering-Henson Funeral Home, Morgantown, WV. Funeral services will on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 be at Dering-Henson Funeral Home at 11:00am with interment to follow at the National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV.
