Jim was born July 1, 1972 in Macon, GA to James Hamilton, Jr. and Linda Watson Lawrence. He graduated from Ware County High School in Waycross in 1991 and Young Harris College in 1993. Jim graduated from the University of Georgia in 1996 and went to work for State Farm Insurance after graduation. He was a loyal employee of State Farm and took pride in his work.
Jim married Stacie Price Lawrence on August 24, 2002 in Roswell, GA at North Springs United Methodist Church. He was a devoted and faithful husband to Stacie as they were married 9 years. Virginia Lawrence was born August 15, 2005 and Cason Lawrence was born November 16, 2007. Jim deeply loved his children. He would take Cason fishing as often as he could; he cherished their “man time”. He was a devoted father who wanted to lead his children to Christ and raise them to be Godly adults.
Jim’s first and foremost passion was his relationship with Christ. Jim would go on Wednesday visitations with his First Baptist Woodstock brothers. He also enjoyed serving in the hospitality ministry, specifically helping the elderly and handicapped people get in the church sanctuary. He had a passion for serving the Lord and using his spiritual gifts- evangelism and service.
Jim loved to fish and would go anytime he had an off day. He found peace and solace while fishing. He enjoyed fishing with his father at St. Simons every summer. Jim loved listening to Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Willie Nelson. He also would listen to Dwight Yoakum (“Who the Kids call “Cowboy”). He also enjoyed John McCarther who was bold in speaking the Gospel.
