Janet Halaby

Janet Reimer Halaby, age 82, peacefully passed away on December 18, 2018. Janet was born on November 14, 1936, to the late Alex and Ethel Reimer, of Michigan. Her husband of 61 years, Hugh Stanley Halaby, preceded her in death in August 2018.

In 1958, Janet met and fell in love with Hugh, married shortly after and started their family. They moved to Florida in their later years and recently moved to Georgia to be closer to family.

Jan was a kind and compassionate person who accepted and loved without judgement. She was an incredibly supportive and encouraging mom who fiercely loved all of her children, their spouses and each of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She loved to cook and bake and hosted many events and holiday dinners. She was an avid reader and showed an interest in almost every sport but absolutely loved watching college football with her husband and was a devoted fan of the Michigan Wolverines.

Along with her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her son, Dean Halaby.

Jan is survived by sons, Scott (wife Tracy) Halaby and Steve (wife Stacy) Halaby; daughter, Stacey Halaby; grandchildren, Gabby Halaby, Nick Halaby, Melissa (husband Matthew) Nakfoor, Samantha Halaby, Jordan Halaby, Allison (husband Buddy) Lawhead, Zack Halaby; and great-grandchildren, Emma Nakfoor, Josh Lawhead, Caleb Lawhead, and Asher Lawhead.
