Jeannie was born and raised in Georgia and had mastered many of the Southern artistries including cooking perfect fried chicken, making homemade biscuits, cakes and pies, being “Mom” to more than just her children, as well as enjoying a good nap.
Jeannie was a proud homemaker and enjoyed being an active part of her children’s lives. She instilled a love for music into her children as she encouraged each one to play a different instrument. She would support and encourage them in after school activities and have vacations as a family. Jeannie loved to give – not only did she advocate for others and find joy in gifting – she gave her family a tradition of Christmas Eve pajamas amongst others that they can continue to share together in the future.
Jeannie was a beloved member of Noonday Baptist Church. She served many capacities at the church over the years such as AWANA, Cubbies, teaching Sunday School, and working with special needs children.
Jeannie enjoyed many activities including spending time at the beach, laying in the warm sun, turning up the bass and rocking out while driving, and watching SpongeBob, Big Bang Theory and anything with Minions.
She had an affinity for animals and collected hippos and flamingos over the years. She gave her many pets a good life over the years: her Bassett hounds Delilah and Cleopatra, her cat Sylvester who only had eyes for Jeannie, and her rescue dogs Roscoe and Daisy.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her father, John F. Napper and mother, Ruth F. Napper whom she was very close to. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 31 years, Dale Edward Sexton; daughters, Janah Denise Collins (Kenneth) of Knoxville, Tennessee and Danielle Elyse Molinaro (Joseph) of Riverview, Florida; sons, Nathaniel Dale Sexton of Marietta, Georgia and Clayton Edward Sexton of Woodstock, Georgia; brother, Michael J. Napper (Cindy) of Florida; cousin Nancy Brimm (Dan) of Cataula, Georgia; niece, Brittany Miller of Woodstock, Georgia; parents in law, Paul Edward Sexton (L. Darlene Sexton) of Portsmouth, Ohio; and many friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Woodstock Funeral Home 8855 Main Street Woodstock, Georgia 30188. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday in the Reece Memorial Chapel at Woodstock Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Somers officiating. A reception will follow in the Dogwood Room.
