Jimmy Lee Uler a beloved son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend, departed his earthly life and entered eternal peace on September 3rd, 2020.
Jimmy was born in Sydney Australia on October 7th, 1992 to Sandy Lawrence and Atilla Uler. Jimmy was the youngest in the family, constantly spoiled by his father, sister and brother and he was always considered “Mommy’s Boy.”
He began his education in Sydney, Australia and moved to Atlanta with his mother Sandy in 2002. Jimmy graduated from Dunwoody High School in May of 2011.
Jimmy was a cheerful young boy that always had a smile. Sandy can’t remember a time that Jimmy never smiled, nor did he ever cry as a child. He was, as we like to say in Australia, a “Happy Little Vegemite”.
Moving to Atlanta was not Jimmy’s first choice, and oh boy, did he let Sandy know. He started the journey by giving his mom the silent treatment on the flight over….30 hours of silence. However, over the years he realized how much he loved Georgia. He found hobbies he enjoyed and truly made Atlanta his home. Going back to Sydney and spending time with the family he adored held a very special place in his heart. He was devoted to his family back in Australia.
Jimmy enjoyed listing to music, but he loved songs from the 80’s. In addition to listing to music, he also enjoyed playing the drums and the piano. Jimmy would sometimes play the piano for Sandy when they spent time together at home. He adored spending time with his friends, especially at a barbeque with a nice cold Fosters beer.
Whether you knew Jimmy or it was the first time you were meeting him, instead of a handshake, he would give you a big, squeezy hug.
Fitness and healthy eating were a huge part of Jimmy’s lifestyle, he loved cooking which was the reason he enjoyed his work so much and it was also the inspiration driving his plans to eventually own his own business. His energy and positivity could be seen in how he connected not only with his coworkers, but also his customers. Jimmy showed passion in every aspect of his role and enjoyed his time there.
Jimmy had a deep connection to nature. He could often be found outdoors hiking and camping. His love for nature was so strong that he would not allow anyone to kill an insect passing by. He would gently pick it up and move it out of harm’s way. This man that had a desire to serve in the military was the same man that had a heart for the smallest of God’s creations.
Jimmy spread positivity wherever he went and always cared for the well-being of others. He always led with a smile and never showed anger. Jimmy often put everyone ahead of himself. He would stop what he was doing to provide counsel to anyone in need. Most important to him was his family. He cared deeply for everyone and always wanted to make sure that they were doing well. Jimmy was a true blessing from God to us all and will truly be missed.
Prior to his departure, he was always surrounded by family and friends. Jimmy has impacted all of our lives in a very special and memorable way.
We love you, Jimmy!
