Joan was an avid reader, was an organist and had worked as a receptionist and bookkeeper for several business over the years. She had a heart of gold and had a magnetic personality that drew others into her circle.
She was a beloved member of Christ Episcopal Church where donations may be made in her honor.
Joan is preceded in death by her husband of 50+ years, Jack Everette Cartland, and husband of 8 years, Phillip MacArthur; and son, Jack Lawrence Cartland. She is survived by her daughter, Jaye Cartland; daughter in law, Janet Cartland; sister, Ann Prentiss; grandchildren, Cassie Cartland, Clay Cartland, Peter Bracci and his wife, Laura, Carrie MacArthur and her husband, Justin, Christine Beninati and her husband, Frank, Phillip MacArthur and his wife, Amanda, and Paul MacArthur and his wife, Krista; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church in Kennesaw with Father Ben Day officiating. Joan will be laid to rest at the church's memorial garden following services.
