John Lewis Skelton

John Lewis Skelton “Bubba,” 86, of Waleska, Georgia quietly passed from this life on Saturday, January 27, 2024. John was born June 29, 1937 in Roanoke, VA to the late John and Lula Skelton. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Lula, his wife Blanche, his brothers Jim, Harlan, Alfred, Howard, his sister Ruth, his son John and his stepson Kenny. He is survived by his ex-wife and dear friend Annie, his children: Diane (Sam), Ron (Kelly), Jim (Kathy), and April, his stepdaughter Kim, his grandchildren: Kenny, Josh, Gabrielle, John, Ben, Brittany, Stephanie, Larry, Zach, Kendall, and Ronnie, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, training horses, and bowling. He was a sports fanatic- GO BUCKS! In his later years, he enjoyed teaching and telling stories to his grandchildren and loved to be a part of their lives by never missing their sports games and taking them hunting for the first time. With his infinite amount of wisdom, John, was always the “Go-To Man” for all of our questions and problems. It wasn’t broken until Bubba said it couldn’t be fixed. He enjoyed seeing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren come to visit. He always had his stash of snacks and cookies ready. Per his wishes, there will not be any memorial service scheduled.
