Leah Clare DeBatty

Leah Clare DeBatty of 402 Township Lane, Woodstock, GA,30189 passed to be with Jesus, her Lord & Savior on Sept. 14, 2014 with family by her side. She was born in Roll, Indiana on April 29, 1934. She was born to the late Clare and Leona Tharpe.

Leah always valued her family and treasured being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was blessed having children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Leah is survived by four daughters: Dixie Carvalho; Gina Schluneker and her husband Greg; Elaine McCraw and husband Greg; Leah (Shelly) Tryon; Brother Patrick Tharp and his wife Ellen; and Sister Rosie Brackett. Leah’s Grandchildren: Tommy Stover, Sherry LePore and husband John; Jason Schluneker, Nicole Simmons, Andrew McCord, Heather DeCaro, Colton Tryon, Nicholas Zuch, and Marcus, Maranda, & Matthew McCraw. Leah’s Great Grandchildren: Courtney Stover; Gage, Bridget, & Andrea McCord; Kaylee DeCaro; Dylan Gentry; and Alexa Simmons. Her beloved guardian angel, Sophie, her loving dog, slept by her side 24/7 for months.

Family will attend a graveside service at Enon Cemetery, 7:00 PM. The family requests the expression of sympathy in the form of donations to Pike Nursery, 770-926-3252, mention in memory of Leah DeBatty. Your gift will bless the implementation of a “Celebrate A Life Sitting Garden” for all families to enjoy at Enon Cemetery. We would like to share a special heartfelt thank you to all the employees of Homestead Hospice who cared for Leah.
