

Born March 27th, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Spencer B. Carter and Nellie W. Carter.
Louise graduated from Sylvan High School and attended the University of Georgia. On July 4th, 70 years ago, she went on her first date with James A. Kennedy, Jr. ("Jim"). They were married 2 years later and were married for 68 years.
Louise worked as a banker in Miami rising from a branch manager's secretary to a Senior Vice President managing the entire branch network of a large commercial bank.
After Louise and Jim retired, they moved to Woodstock, Georgia where they lived for the last 24 years. Louise enjoyed golf, bridge and traveling with Jim. Louise and Jim traveled all over the world together visiting 45 different countries, including spending a month in China, Australia and New Zealand.
Louise was a devoted member of Alpharetta Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim (November 18th, 2024) and survived by her children, Diane Kennedy (Alex Reddick) of Woodstock, GA, and David and Kathy Kennedy of Emigrant, Montana; grandchildren, Amanda Kennedy Zolan (Alex), Christopher Hudson Kennedy (Christina) and Ryan Austen Kennedy (Stephanie); great-grandchildren, Jackson Kennedy Zolan, Charlie Nouvel Kennedy, Rosemary Hudson Zolan, Theodore Marie Kennedy, Lorelei Steinway Zolan, Campbell Lee Kennedy and William Hayes Kennedy; cousin Alan Edwards (Barbara Miles); nephew Alan Kennedy (Allison); great nieces, Lilah Kennedy and Norah Kennedy.
A funeral service for Louise will be held Monday, January 27, 2025 from 1:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. Following the funeral service will be a committal service at 3:00 PM at College Park Cemetery, 3600 North Adams, College Park, GA 30337.
