You were something else.  You've definitely fought some battles but you were still an amazing brother. You could shred the guitar like nobody else that I knew. I will always remember you playing your guitar while I was trying to study in high school.  We've had some awesome times together and I will hold those dear to my heart forever. I regret heavily that I never made it to one of his shows, even though his music wasn't exactly my kind. Matt was the kind of guy where it didn't matter if you knew him for 10 minutes or 10 months- he was a friend. It was always a pleasure working alongside him, as he always could make me laugh and I knew I could rely on his quality of work.

It was my pleasure to be Matt's music teacher at CCE.  He would have been in kindergarden and 1st grade when I taught him.  He always had an eager look in his beautiful eyes.  He was kind, polite, and a joy to teach.  My thoughts and prayers are with Val and his family.

It was nice knowing you for the short amount of time i knew you.  I could tell your focus was on your band, and all you wanted to do was play shows.  like my best friend Devan said, keep shreddin up there.

I had the chance to see Matt perform with From Ashes To Flames countless times over the past year and hang out with him from time to time at shows. From what I saw, there's no doubt in my mind he was an exponentially great guitarist who loved everything about the music scene he was a part of. His undeniable talents and energetic personality were truly one of a kind. Matt will be missed not only by family and friends, but by those who were fortunate enough to witness him carry out his passion as well.

My son started kindergarten with Matt and I remember him as such a cute, outgoing boy.   I am so sad for you all.

I didn't know Matt very well, but I am really good friends with his sister. Matt would hang out with us sometimes and he was such a fun guy to be around. I cannot imagine what his family is going through right now. May you RIP and know that your family is always in my thoughts and prayers.
