Melissa the eldest of three children, (sister) Vicki Charland and (brother) Steven Loper Jr. Melissa was a wonderful mother to three children, Jessica Goldblum, Jacob Goldblum, and Jamie Goldblum. She was also a beloved aunt to Brandon and Dylan Charland. Most of all, Melissa was a loving “Gram” to Blake, Braylee, Corbin, and Easton.
Melissa was known as “Missy” to many. During her early years on Long Island much of her time was with spent with her grandparents, aunts, uncle and cousins. She enjoyed modeling as a young adult and was in many beauty pageants. Melissa was a graduate of Harborfields High School. Shortly after High School, Melissa married Richard Goldblum and they resided in Cambridge, NY where they raised their three children. While in Cambridge, Melissa made many lifelong friendships. This is also where her love of country music became a big part of her life. Melissa loved reading books, being by the water, long chats on the phone with just about anybody, and there was no denying her love for Diet Pepsi. Her passion in life was her children. Melissa spent many hours running her kids to practices, volunteering for the PTA, coaching tee-ball teams, and being the Girl Scout troop leader. During all of this she received a degree at Adirondack Community College. Shortly after, Melissa started working at Washington County Head Start, where she worked for many years. Later on in life Melissa remarried Larry Kirker, and they resided in Hoosick Falls, NY, and then later moved to Canton, GA. While living in Georgia she spent much of her time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to the lake, being outside, and being with family.
Melissa will forever be missed for her huge heart, kindness, and smile that would light up a room. Her determination, warm hugs and especially when she would laugh so hard she would cry will be missed by so many. Melissa, who was taken too soon from us, will be missed beyond belief. Until we meet again our sweet angel, forever your babies we will be.
