He became a faithful and loving husband to his life partner and best version of his world, Irma Barnett Young. Millard and his wife were both perfectionist, they both had careers and worked in the blue collar occupation. They was known for their Dapper and Diva status by the whole city whenever they stepped out. Millard's career putting together paint container's as a materials handler spanned over 25 years at E.I. DuPont de Nemours/Corteva Dow Chemical. Millard was also a true sports fan and a gifted athlete growing up.
What I loved the most about my papa was his sense of humor and his ability to crack a joke on you. For his age he was very witty. When he laughed he would let out a slight chuckle following a sly grin. I am very appreciative to have been blessed with my 90 year old grandfather's presence at my wedding. He was the 1st person I showed my wife's wedding ring and he said "Oh shoot" she is a lucky girl to have you. Papa famous words toward the end of his life was "Somebody help me please black white green or purple", when u ask him what you need, his reply would be "I don't know". We love you papa, hug grandma Irma for us.
Later in life, he developed new relationships and friendships with many at the J. Frank Troy Senior Center. Millard was a lifetime family man. He was outgoing, but at the same time quiet and observant. Millard was cared for till the end of his journey by his son, Andre and his wife, Reba once he could no longer do it for himself. For that, the remaining family would like to express supreme gratitude for the eternal sacrifice.
