Pauline Mary Collier

Pauline Mary Kusbish Collier, age 81, born in Thurles, County Tipperary, Ireland, passed away on October 19, 2022, in Kennesaw, Georgia.

A visitation for Pauline will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 11 AM to 12 PM at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.

Educated by nuns at the Presentation Convent in Carlowe, Ireland, Pauline was a devoted Catholic throughout her life. At the age of 12, she emigrated with her family to England, where she would later meet her husband, Rex, while he was stationed in England with the United States Air Force. They met for the first time on Halloween night, 1958, and by April of the next year, they were engaged.

Pauline traveled the world with her husband, moving her home more than 30 times, including stints in three different countries and five U.S. states. A lifelong tennis enthusiast, she not only played but also taught the sport until late into her life, and managed to hold her own even while playing in a men’s tennis league. When she wasn’t playing tennis, she was gardening and feeding hummingbirds, often spending all day among her flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Rex Alexander Collier, as well as three children, Sharon Cunningham, David Collier, and Kathy Theiss, plus seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her, as one who brought simple joy and humor (sometimes accidentally) wherever she went, as one who never hesitated to tell the truth as she saw it, as someone who was always full of love and warmth for her family.

A visitation for Pauline will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Saint Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1618 Ben King Rd, Kennesaw, GA 30144. A committal service will occur Wednesday, November 9, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114.
