Phil was born into an Army Family, an Army Brat, (as was his mother) and lived in several places: mostly in the Washington, DC area of Northern Virginia, an exciting and interesting place to grow up.
He did not adapt well to academic schooling but flourished in fine arts and creative thinking. He was adept at drawing, sketching, and painting, and was cordial and friendly, and had many friends and acquaintances.
He was always a very spiritual person, though not very religious; until he came to the Crossview Baptist Church and recently declared his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his personal savior.
He is preceded in death by his life partner, Barbara Phillips Jackson, grandparents, Max and Peggy Colley, and Gayle and Marjorie Havercroft, as well as his aunt, Joyce Havercroft Jensen.
He is survived by his parents, Roger V. Havercroft and his wife Linda Tumpane, brothers, Jeffery Havercroft, John Tumpane, Gregory King, sisters, Shannon Baer, Bridget Tumpane, and Soraya King. He will also be missed by his nephew, Max Havercroft, nieces, Anna Havercroft, Natalie Havercroft, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial Service for Phil will be held on March 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, Georgia 30188.
