Robert "Bob" Posey Bridges

Robert Posey Bridges (Bob), 71, of Canton, GA passed away on June 29, 2019. Bob was born on June 25, 1948 in Atlanta, GA to the late James and Bobbie Bridges. After high school, Bob joined the United States Army and honorably served during the Vietnam War. Bob enjoyed a career with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. He enjoyed being outdoors and spent a lot of his time camping and hiking. A reserved person, Bob always felt at home in the mountains. He was a loving and loyal husband and devoted father. He will be deeply missed by his family. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Linda Bridges; sons, Mike Creech (Kelley) and Chris Creech (Kathleen); grandchildren, Jake, Katie, Sam, Jared, Megan, Mackenzie, Laura Kate and Ted; great-grandchildren, Anthony and 2 on the way; brothers, James T. (Butch) Bridges, Jr and Steve Bridges; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mike Bridges; and sisters, Terri Foster and Neva Tedford. A visitation will be on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 5-7pm at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main St, Woodstock, GA 30188. A funeral Service will be Monday, July 8, 2019 at 11:30am in the chapel of Woodstock Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
