With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ruth Allen Lewis Hosea Hale, who left this world on Saturday, February 8th, 2025, surrounded by her children. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose unwavering love, strength, and faith shaped the lives of those she cherished most. Ruth was a woman of deep faith, and she instilled in her children the importance of having a strong relationship with God. She believed in the promise of Psalm 62:1-2: "Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation, he is my fortress, I will never be shaken."
For many years, she worked as a talented seamstress in her family’s interior drapery and custom fabrics business, creating beauty with her hands and leaving a lasting impression on every home she touched. Her craftsmanship reflected her patience, dedication, and love for others. Beyond her work, Ruth had a deep love for music, finding joy and peace in melodies that filled her home and heart. Whether singing along to her favorite hymns or simply enjoying a beautiful song, music was a source of comfort and happiness for her.
She was known for her kindness and generosity, always willing to help anyone in need. Ruth had a heart of gold—whether it was offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or simply a helping hand, she made sure no one ever felt alone. Her selflessness was a true reflection of her faith and love for others. One of Ruth’s most unforgettable qualities was her joyful laugh. Her laughter was contagious, bringing warmth and happiness to everyone around her. It had a way of lifting spirits and making others smile just by hearing it.
Ruth was the cherished mother of four children: Cathy and her husband, Kent Monroe, with six children and eleven grandchildren; Sharon Davis, with two children and three grandchildren; Lisa and her husband, Bruce Miller, with four children and two grandchildren; and Robert and his wife, Natalie Hosea, with two children. She is also survived by her beloved brother, Jimmy Lewis, and his wife, Johnnie, along with their two children and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 17th, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Woodstock Funeral Home, 8855 Main Street, Woodstock, GA 30188, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at the same location. After the service, Ruth will be laid to rest at Rock Springs Baptist Church, where she will be reunited in rest next to her beloved late husband, James Robert Hosea, the father of her children.
Though she is no longer with us, Ruth’s love, faith, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." – Matthew 25:23
