Tonia Diane Nelson

Tonia was born in Atlanta to the late Dorsey Lee and Rosa Lee Goodson Hall and was one of 10 siblings.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by her husband John Nelson of 50 years, son Jason Nelson, daughter-in-Law Anna Nelson, daughter Kelly Steward, son-in-law Johnny Steward, grandchildren Jackson Nelson, Harper Nelson, Hartley Nelson, and soon to be Kensley Steward, sister and brother-in-law Darlene and Steve Lanier and nieces and nephews.

Tonia loved flowers and gardening, crafting and puzzles, her girl’s trips with close friends, almost daily outings around town, and spending time in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

She cherished the moments she shared with her grandchildren, her children, and her sister.

Tonia was a wonderful cook who loved to entertain and enjoyed a houseful of family especially for birthdays and holidays.

She was a joy to all that knew her and had an infectious laugh that lit up the room. She never met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with just about anyone.

She approached life with a positive spirit and made the most of the moments she was given.
