Vincent A. Fischer III, age 50, of Woodstock, Georgia, passed away on August 6, 2021 after enduring cancer with dignity, grace and immense courage and, his devoted wife, Linnea always by his side. Vince was born on December 5, 1970 in Dayton, Ohio. Soon after his birth, his family moved to Northbrook, Illinois where he was raised.
Vince attended St Viator High School in Arlington Heights, Illinois. He graduated with a double major in Mechanical Engineering and English from the University of St Thomas in St Paul, Minnesota. Shortly thereafter, Vince met the love of his life, Linnea Koller and was married in 2003. Vince was a medical device engineer who patented a surgical tool utilized during cardiac surgery. The device is currently still in use today. In 2006, Vince and Linnea transferred to Salt Lake City, Utah and again in 2008 to Woodstock, Georgia. More recently, Vince used his entrepreneurial and mechanical skills to launch a growing business in outdoor equipment repair.
Vince’s greatest joy in life was being a father. Vince was a hands-on Dad who was blessed to stay at home and raise his beloved children, Dylan (12) and Rosie (7). Vince fully embraced fatherhood taking his children to storytime at the library, school functions, doctors appointments, playdates, competitive bowling and endless hours throwing his children in the pool. Vince was well known in his neighborhood as the one man welcome wagon and he never knew a stranger.
He strived to build a close knit neighborhood, hosting amazing parties for birthdays and special events, building a communal playground, orchestrating Power Wheel races (souping up the vehicles to drive faster - of course), and building a snow machine so the children could go sledding. Vince was also generous with his time, often helping neighbors with their projects or sharing his knowledge. Vince’s circle of friends grew wherever he lived.
Vince was an avid Bears fan, barbecue master, music aficionado, and loved all things Celtic. Above all, he adored his wife, Linnea and their children, Dylan and Rosie. Vince will always be remembered for his keen intellect, original humor and generous heart.
Vince is preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Donovan Fischer. Vince is survived by his wife, Linnea Koller Fischer. Son, Dylan Fischer. Daughter, Rosie Fischer. Father, Vincent A. Fischer Jr.. Sisters - Christine (Morgan) Elvidge, Sandy (Luciano) Migliaccio, Susan (Tom) O’Hara, Gigi (Tracy) Covington. Father and Mother in law Wes and Christine Koller. Vinnie, we are so blessed to have had you in our lives - you will be so very dearly missed!
Irish Blessing
May the Lord rise up to meet you,
May the wind always be at your back,
May the sun shine warm on your face,
And the rain fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
