

William Parker Bullard was born on January 14, 1922 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He was the oldest of four children and only son of the late William Albert Bullard and Edith Magdaleine Parker Bullard. He passed away on January 17, 2012 at his assisted living residence in Woodstock, GA. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Wilma June Thurmond Bullard in 2003. He is survived by his son (William P. Bullard II), his daughter (Cheryl R. Bullard), two daughters-in-law (Jessica A. Frischling and Madelyn I. Merle), two grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He retired after 33 years of service in the US Army as a Lt. Col. and highly decorated veteran of three wars. He was also in the first African American graduating class of the Army’s Officers’ Candidate School during the time of segregation. Following his military career, he became an Administrative Analyst for San Mateo County CA and an ordained Minister of his Church. His memorial service will be held at Woodstock Funeral Home on February 3rd at 12:30 pm. This will be followed by a Military Honor Service at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton at 2:30 pm. where his and his wife’s urns will be interred. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either Disabled American Veterans (www.dav.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
