Alice Lin, 71, of Westerville Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on September 11, 2024. She was born in Hong Kong on May 14, 1953, to the late Chi Chun Lee and Cheng Wei Chang. She spent her childhood and youth growing up in Young Ho, Taiwan.
Alice graduated from Tao Kiang Vocational School in 1972 after which she worked as a bookkeeping assistant. In 1975, she immigrated to the United States with her sister, Amy. They took up residence with their brother Edward in Chicago. In 1976, Alice and her sister, Amy, moved to a friendly roomy house in Chicago run by a Chinese Catholic Father, where she was courted by her future husband.
Alice was married to her husband, Chao Ping, in 1977 in West Lafayette, Indiana where their eldest son, Jason was born. Because of work they moved to Somerville, New Jersey in 1980. After having Felix, they relocated to their final destination of Columbus, Ohio in 1983, where Timothy was the final addition to their loving family.
Alice stayed home to be a devoted wife and nurturing mother to raise her three sons. As her children started growing up, Alice began working various jobs in 1993, where she was often recognized for her hard work and job performance by her management.
Alice enjoyed visiting parks and gardens and traveling nationally to large cities where she could bring her beloved boys to China Town to experience the authentic tastes, smells, and goods of her native country. More than anything Alice’s family was her top priority. She was a kind, loving, and caring wife, mother, and NaiNai. She enjoyed nothing greater than entertaining her family. She was known to prepare excellent Chinese food including dumplings, buns, and eggrolls. Alice also enjoyed decorating her home for different seasons and holidays.
Alice will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed for her beauty, warm smile, loving heart, generosity, and dedication to her family.
