She was born on October 4, 1951, in Coquimbo, Chile, to the late Jorge and Ines (Ceroni) Wilson. As a young girl, her family moved to La Serena, where she formed lifelong friendships. Ana earned a degree in Technical Drawing from the University of La Serena and later worked for both an architectural firm and a ceramic studio, where she helped recover and document traditional techniques used by the native Diaguita people.
It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Bruce, and they were married. Together, they raised two daughters, living in England, then returning to Chile, and finally settling in Ohio. In Worthington, Ana found community and support through the Worthington Hills Woman’s Club, which played a meaningful role in her early years in the United States.
As her children grew, Ana rekindled her passion for art. She joined the Worthington Area Art League, where she served as treasurer for many years. A true multidisciplinary artist, she explored pencil, oils, watercolors, pastels, bronze, ceramics, textiles, and jewelry. In recent years, her creativity turned toward her grandchildren, organizing crafts and activities just as she had done for her daughters.
Ana will be remembered for her deep love of family, travel, the beach, sweet treats, 4th of July parade floats, parties, artistic curiosity, and her many cherished friendships.
She is survived by her loving husband, Bruce; daughters Irene (Michael) Cameron and Stephanie (Ryan) Parker; grandchildren Grant, Sophia, and Alejandra; siblings Lucia Wilson and Jorge Wilson; brother-in-law Alan Atwood; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and close friends around the world.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Worthington in early October.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ana’s name may be made to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, the Worthington Area Art League Scholarship Fund, or any charity close to your heart.
