Barbara Jean Konicki

Barbara Jean (Leasure) Konicki of Centerville passed away on December 27, 2022, at the age of 84. She was born on June 1, 1938, to William and Eva Leasure. She was baptized at, and a life-long member of, Holy Cross (Lithuanian) Catholic Church in north Dayton. She graduated from Northridge High School in 1956. Barbara is survived by her beloved brother, William (“Bill”) Leasure and his wife, Shirley, and two very dear sisters, Phyllis Richey and Carol Sollenberger. She is also survived by her Aunt Helen Loeber and by a special niece, Sharee Milrot, who was very devoted to her care.

Barbara was a wonderful, caring and giving mother and is survived by a daughter and step-daughter and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie, with whom she owned and operated Buckeye Lawn & Landscaping in Centerville for over 20 years. Prior thereto, Barbara was an executive secretary at Top Value Enterprises in Dayton. Together, Barbara and Lonnie loved entertaining, and playing cards with, friends and family at their home in Centerville as well as at their home at Deerfield on Norris Lake in Tennessee. Barbara also loved fishing with family in that state up north.

Barbara was a life-long resident of Dayton, except for the last two years of her life when she relocated to Columbus where she resided at, and was so thoughtfully cared for by the staff of, Kemper House Worthington. A visitation for Barbara will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 1-2 pm., at the Chapel at Calvary Cemetery (1625 Calvary Drive, Dayton, Ohio 45409), with a Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 2 pm.
