Clara J. Sizemore

Clara Jean Sizemore, 91, of Delaware, passed away and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, October 10, 2025. She was born on December 30, 1933, in Huntington, WVA, to the late Rodney and Thelma (Simpkins) Dial. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her children, Curtis and Carol; and her sister Loretta Gale.

Clara grew up in WVA and KY, and graduated from Huntington East High School in 1951. She was later employed with the United Fuel Gas Company for many years and later part time with John Hancock Insurance Company.

Clara and her husband, Patrick, were married in 1956. (They just celebrated 69 years of marriage in September!)

Clara and Pat moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 1957 where they raised their children. Clara was a member of Grace Polaris Church for 50 years. She enjoyed being apart of Ladies Bible Studies, Ladies Prison Ministries and served as a Deaconess. She and her husband, Pat served together on the Hospital Care Team for many years together.

Clara enjoyed many hobbies; which included gardening, reading, watching classic movies and eating out with her husband. She loved music, especially gospel music. She loved cleaning her home and keeping it clean and welcoming for family gatherings.

Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother and grandmother. She loved being a homemaker and staying home with her children while they were young. When she became a Grandma, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, especially during their early years as they were growing up. Special memories were made when her grandkids would come and spend weekends with her and Grandpa while their parents were away.

Nothing brought Clara more joy than the many dogs that she had during her life. There was hardly a year that went by that Clara didn’t have a dog by her side or on her lap.

Clara will be greatly missed by her husband, Patrick Sizemore; daughter, Paula (Philip) Stoll; grandchildren, Joshua, Jacob, and Hannah Stoll; great-granddaughter, Kian; sister, Linda (Richard) Chapman; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A private family Graveside Service will be held and a public Celebration of Life will be held on November 8, 2025 at Grace Polaris Church, 8225 Worthington - Galena Road, Westerville, Ohio 43081. (Visitation: 10:00 am; Service: 11:00am)
