Dr. Stephen D. Brown

Dr. Stephen D. Brown, age 79 of Columbus, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Sunday February 22, 2026, at his home. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on September 15, 1946, to John and Lucille Brown. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Ohio University and The Ohio State University College of Dentistry.

Stephen was a practicing dentist for over fifty years, and his practice locations included Toledo, Dayton, Dublin and Lewis Center, Ohio. Stephen was a respected member of the dental community for his excellence in dentistry and even more so for his caring and compassionate nature with all his patients and staff. He always took the time to develop a relationship with his patients; many became lifelong friends.

Stephen was a kind and generous person, who enjoyed spending time with his friends, family and loving companion of many years, Barbara Emerick. He enjoyed the theater, sports, automobiles, art, architecture and a great meal. He had the ability to have a conversation with anyone and make them feel special. His great sense of humor, and ability to light up a room with his outgoing spirit, will be missed greatly.

Stephen is survived by his partner Barbara, daughter Jenny (Matt) Miller, grandchildren Madeline (Paul) Dilyard, J Maxwell (Kaylee) and Olivia, brother Jeff (Donna) Brown of Ashville, NC, and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by parents John and Lucille Brown, former wife Kathleen Fee and cousin Betty Lou (Mylie) Reid.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 1pm until 4pm, at the Schoedinger Worthington funeral home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085.
