Memories of Vera are so special.  Certain activities or dates trigger so many thoughts. She was such a blessing. She was so beautiful, kind, generous and caring.  Vera is a bright light who is gone way too soon; but, her praise & worship dancing, her sewing, gardening, interior design, her cooking hacks for Lasagna, her love for her children and her contagion laughter  along with so many other unforgettable attributes will never be forgotten.  My prayers continue for her children who she loved unconditionally  and said that being their Mother was her greatest joy in life.❤️  I miss you so much little Sister. Thank you for all the times we spent together or talked and allowing me to see so many authentic glimpses of you.  You will always live in my heart.

I have so many things to say about my spirited, one of a kind, Nana. This first year without you has been really hard on me. Every year we have our birthday joke of “happy birthday nana! I love you!” And you would say to me “Thank you baby girl I will be calling you TOMORROW for your birthday!” And every year on my birthday you would call and sing to me. You are the only one who has ever done that with me and as we approach our birthdays this year I hold my memories of you close to my heart. We were and forever will be Gemini twins. Thank you for sharing birthday weekends with me and for always making my birthday special. 
I had my first baby this year! Her name is Charlotte. I have never told anyone before but there is actually a reason I chose the name Charlotte, and it has to do with you.  I decided to name my only daughter after what I picture when I think of you and every time I picture you in my mind you are free and happily dancing. Free of the challenges life has thrown your way and happily dancing and making everyone laugh in heaven- much like you did here on Earth. Charlotte means free, and we nicknamed her Cha Cha like the dance! I pray everyday that she is as free spirited,  adventurous, and loving as you. We love you and we miss you. Thank you for sending my sweet Charlotte to me right after I lost you. Fly high my beautiful Nana

I have many fond memories of my Aunt Vera — from sleep overs with my cousins to her teaching me how to sew. My siblings and I loved hanging out with their family. It was one big party when our families came together.

She had such a vibrant personality, and knew how to have a good time. Dancing, laughing, joking is what I’d see her doing. She made sure whoever she was with was having a good time too.

I especially remember her as crafty! She was constantly sewing or crafting something, and it inspired me to foster my crafty side too. Seeing her making anything she wanted made me think, “Maybe adults can have fun too. I can be a crafty, cool adult like my Aunt Vera.”

After all these years, I still love crafting. I know a portion of that is due to my relationship with her. I’m thankful to have known her. She’s forever in my hot glued covered heart.

May  God  comfort  your  family  at  this  time  Vera was  a  beautiful person  and in  the Lord. The  most  memorable  memory  I  have  of  Vera was  when I had  our daughter  Charese  I  got  sick  after  delivering  her  and I got  depressed  Vera  came  to  visit  me  to  get  the  pink  card  so  she  could see  her new  Cousin  and   her  smile brighten  my day.

My favorite memory of Vera is "Simply Vera".  So what does this mean?  Named after our Mother, Vera was also a strong fierce woman who loved her children unconditionally. She was also full of  joy, hope, love and faith even doing adversity. Her laugh and the way she placed emphasis on some words made people smile or sit up and pay attention. "Right".  Vera never met a stranger or anyone that she wasn't willing to help.  She shared her love working with Autistic children who she believed were so gifted.  She was also committed to helping abused women, getting ready to run marathon races, redecorating, sharing whatever she had with others even during challenging times or simply living her life with joy, hope and faith.  Listening to Vera were humble teaching moments.  She showed everyone  the mercy and grace she received.  Vera was an awesome Gift.  Her joy, hope and peace could also be seen and felt thru her prophetic dancing.  It was like seeing her floating on pure air and a vision never to be forgotten.
Her visits to Illinois were also a source of joy for me and several of my Sisters . We'd smile, laugh and learn as we boarded trains, made our way to vintage shops/thrift stores, enjoyed festivals, quaint restaurants, shopped, took carriage rides, tours, walked forever or simply talked.  Sharing various types of Creme Brule and other desserts was a fun delicious moment for her while discussing family, her  goals, hopes, dreams or her gardening and thrift store tips.  Vera even made a trip to Illinois to help me when I was ill. She turned the visit into a joyful, faith and healing event.   Again, never to be forgotten. Vera is forever in my heart as ' Simply Authentic Vera' where I will cherish all the precious memories.  She would tell us not to wear an air of sorrow, if we really knew her, because she's simply stepped into the next room.  She'd say, " this isn't farewell...it's until I see ya again so laugh and smile when you think of me".  I love you, Vera!!!

Getting to know Vera while we worked at Bluffsview Elementary School together, was a joy.  “Joy” and a warm loving smile are what I think of  when I think of Vera. She cared deeply for so many people, especially her family. She brightened many people’s days even when she herself had worries.
Vera, may your spirit be filled with peace, comfort and joy as you live your heavenly journey.

God has given all of us a gift so Amazing and so incredible that most people don’t know what to do with it. This gift is Grace and my sister Vera had that gift in touching so many peoples lives. Touching them through laughter and conversation. It was a true blessing to us when she came to visit us in Florida and when she left she had left an impact that we truly enjoyed. To Aaron, Josh and Lydia we are sorry for your loss but your mother leaves behind so many memories. So if we all will just Trust in the Lord and Lean not to our own understanding He will direct our path. And we will see Vera again. Love you all

My Beautiful Sister Vera, greatly missed even before now. We laughed, we shared, we stared at the world from our own eyes. I have so many memories of just you and I enjoying times together. Keeping in my heart the good times,  in my thoughts a passing glance of the rough times that were also part of  real life for you. No more pain, no more tears because God has you Vera. 🙏 Dear sister that makes me smile and dance for that glance has advanced to the peace that surpasses all things. To Aaron, Josh and Lydia, I’m sorry that your Mom, my sister had to leave us so soon.   I will always remember her ministering  so beautifully as she Danced at Church.   I’m thankful for all the time we all spent together during winter breaks years ago. Your Mom was a woman of many gifts and talents.  Vera would spend the start of the Memorial Day weekend by helping me with my yard because she loved a beautiful yard.   I miss her infectious smile.  I take delight in knowing she is resting well in our Heavenly Father’s arms.   I pray peace and strength to each of you as you move forward without her here in your life.  Love you all.

To my beautiful sister Vera. I loved the trips we took as sisters to visit our sister Gloria. You me and Marcy with what we called our triples. Josh, Chenaiah and Jason. Sis you will be greatly missed with your beautiful smile. I know you are in a far better place, in the presence of our Lord. Dance Vera dance and I can see you now doing what you do.
