Fred H. Bennett Jr., 96, of Columbus, passed away on February 26, 2023. He was born on June 29, 1926, to the late Frederick and Martha (Johnson) Bennett Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Bennett, and seven siblings.
Fred was a life-long resident of Columbus Ohio where he worked as a Carpenter for over 55 years. He married his wife Liz after leaving the military to enjoy 49 years together. Fred was a US Army veteran and a member of AMVETS Post 89, active in the Honor Guard, Sad Sacks, Trustee and the “Resident Carpenter” on call.
Fred will be greatly missed by his children, Don Bennett and Judy (Stephen) Madaffari; grandchildren, Ryan Davis and Kara (Robert) Russell; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Noah Davis and Quinn and Graham Russell and many friends and relatives.
A graveside service for Fred will be held Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Road, Columbus, Ohio 43202.
