Gina was preceded in death by her mother, Delores V. (Fera) Paolini (2/23/87), her brother Eugene R. Paolini III (11/5/11) and her father, Eugene Roy Paolini, Jr (10/31/21).
She is survived by her wife, Amy Keener; step-son, Shane (Courtney) Whitacre; grandson, Graham; and many loving cousins in Pittsburgh and other parts of the country.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Gina was a graduate of Fox Chapel High School. She received a BS in Accounting from West Virginia University where she also played softball for two years and volleyball for four years.
Gina came to Ohio in 1982 to run the Ohio branch of her Father’s honor snack company from 1981 until 2005. She also started North Columbus Volleyball Club in 1999 and was president of it from 2000-2005.
On August 7, 2002, she met Amy, the love of her life and always said that her “world turned upside down” from then on.
In August, 2004, she was first diagnosed with metastasized thyroid cancer, which she fought bravely for the next 20 years.
Gina’s presence was larger than life. Whether coaching on the volleyball court or creating one of her masterpieces in the kitchen, she left parts of herself with those she loved and we will carry her in our hearts forever.
