Jeannine Tongret

Jeannine Tongret, 65, of Westerville, Ohio passed away on June 18, 2024. She was born in Algonac, Michigan to the late James Ferdinand and Iris Joanne (Harris) Burkhardt. In addition to her parents, Jeannine was preceded in death by her sons Jacob, Joshua, and Benjamin. Daughters-in-law Kasey and Karen. Her grandchildren Sophie, Liam, Hadley, and Miles.

Jeannine worked as a Registered Nurse for 37 years, 30 of those years a hospice nurse. She viewed her work as not just an occupation, but a calling. She was ideally suited: compassionate, kind, and selfless; always putting her patients first. She approached her whole life with the same demeanor. You couldn’t have an interaction with her without feeling heard, understood, and loved. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, bead work, antiquing, especially pottery, volunteering with animals, cooking, and gardening. She loved the ocean, and the peaceful crash of the waves. The only thing she enjoyed more than the ocean is her family… and Dr. Pepper.

Jeannine will be greatly missed by her brothers Conan and Eric. Sisters-in-law Lynne and Shiela. Nieces and nephews Megan, Kayla, Tyler, and Kristen.
