John William France, age 82, of Columbus, went to his eternal resting place January 21, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He retired from Emerson Corporation following nearly three decades of service there and to its predecessor, Liebert. He was an Ohio Army National Guard Veteran.
John will be remembered for his selflessness, loyalty, and commitment to God, Family, Friends and Country. His granddaughters, Corvettes, and the Buckeyes were among his passions. Going to a Corvette club meeting, a lunch with former workmates, sitting with family at the table for dinner, taking one of his grandchildren to school or practice, or watching Ohio State beat yet another opponent were some of the ways he spent his time in recent years. Prior to that, he worked more than most, but he still figured out how to spend quality time with the love of his life, Sandy, and steadfastly support his son, Matt, in his efforts in anything he was pursuing.
John was preceded in death by parents Edward Lafayette and Faye Marie (Glick) France, brother, Donald Lee France, his beloved wife, Sandra Sue (Armstrong) France, and his sister in law, Connie France. He is survived by his son, Matthew John France, daughter in law, Jamie Ann (Little) France, grandchildren Katerina Elise and Sophia Marcelle France, brother, Larry and sister in law, Susan, nephews and nieces, Scott, Heather, Lee Anne, Jennifer, Tammi, Marc, and other relatives.
