John A. McCoy, Jr., age 75, of Dublin, OH, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. John was born in Columbus, OH on July 19, 1949, to John A. and Virginia (Lordier) McCoy. John was preceded in death by his son John, his sister Lee Ann Fausnaugh, and his parents. John is survived by his 30-year life partner Cathy Hironaka, sister Patrice (Bill) Paider, children Patrick (Kim) McCoy and Meghan (Matthew) Long, and grandchildren Connor Trawick, Liam McCoy, Christopher Trawick, Danny Long, Connor McCoy, Nora Long, Colleen Long and Ethan Pallone. John is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
John graduated from Bishop Watterson High School in 1967. He obtained his baccalaureate degree from Ohio Dominican University and his juris doctor from Capital University. John practiced law for many years before owning his own business for more than 30 years. He was an avid Columbus Clippers baseball and Notre Dame football fan.
Family will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 1, 2025, 1-4pm at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington, OH. Celebration of life to follow in the summer.
