In Loving Memory of Lester V. Larrison, Jr. (1950-2024) who passed away at home under hospice care on August 5, 2024. Lester was born on January 25, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Mifflin High School (1964-1967) and graduated from Columbus Schools after active military service.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Virginia Fultz Larrison, his father, Lester V. Larrison Sr., and two sisters, Jessie Louise Higginbotham and Cathy Moore.
Lester greatly loved this country and served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam era (1968-1972). Following that, he was a US Army Reservist (1980-1997) retiring as a Master Sergeant. Because of his proud service given to his country and desire to help fellow Veterans, Les volunteered as a Guardian escort with Honor Flight taking veterans to visit the War Memorials in D.C. Later in 2022, Lester became an Honor Flight participant and was escorted by his son and a Guardian.
Lester was exemplary at working with his hands and using tools. He was employed by The Ohio State University as a facility operation supervisor (1977-2011). Following two retirements from OSU, he worked at Ohio Heating and Cooling as a project manager (2011-2018).
Lester is survived by Patricia Ulrich Larrison, his loving wife of 53 years: his daughter, Jennifer Lyn (Kevin) Kasnyik of Powell, Ohio; his son, Matthew Ulrich (Caroline) Larrison of Kettering, Ohio; brothers and sisters, Curt (Juanita) Larrison, Irene Mapes, Nancy Bailey, and Bill (Leslie) Larrison. He will be deeply missed by five grandchildren, Clayton and Charlotte Kasnyik, Gavin, Koen, and Taylor Larrison, and many nieces and nephews. He never met a stranger and had many lifelong friends from work, golf, and retirement activities.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and was devoted to his friends and family. He was always ready to help, had an incredible ability to find what was lost, and fix what was broken.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a charity of your choice or Honor Flight Columbus, PO Box 20133, Columbus, OH 43220.
The family expresses gratitude to Care360 Hospice staff.
