Mike’s early years growing up in Steubenville, Ohio were filled with faith, family and sports. He attended Catholic Central High School, where he excelled on the baseball team. His love for competition and camaraderie on the field stayed with him throughout his life. He also became a Dayton Flyer for life, graduating from the University of Dayton with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
His passions included cheering on his beloved Notre Dame Fighting Irish and FSU Seminoles, playing golf, and refereeing basketball. Mike’s journey south, to be at the beach, brought him great joy and cherished time with family and friends.
A true friend to all, Mike made friends everywhere he went and left a lasting impression with his laughter, wit and sincerity. His loyalty and kindness left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to know him. He was also a creative handyman who had unique and resourceful solutions to any problems.
As a devoted father, whether cheering on the sideline, coaching, or sharing words of encouragement, his unwavering support and pride in his children knew no bounds. He was a proud and loving Gdad to his grandbabies, Liam and Brooklyn, who always looked forward to taking them to the park, treating them to Dairy Queen ice cream, and would surprise them with a festive outfit for each holiday. Memories to cherish forever.
Mike was a proud Irish Catholic who attended St. Michael Catholic Church in Worthington, Ohio for many years and was currently a parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.
Mike is survived by his loving family; his children Kevin Bell, Kaitlin Gallagher (William), and their mother, Janet Bell. Two grandchildren Liam and Brooklyn Gallagher, his siblings Lisa Moziejko (Jeff), Dan Bell (Carole), Pat Bell (Joy), Chris Bell (Kelly) and many adored nieces and nephews.
