

Robert Oran Click, age 76, passed away peacefully on April 30th surrounded by his family after an incredibly hard fought, 46-month battle with Glioblastoma. He was born on November 19, 1949, in Lexington, KY and spent his early years in Richmond, KY, before building a long and accomplished life and career in Columbus, Ohio.
Rob was preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Hurshel Click, and nephew, James William Charlton.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Amy Weiffenbach Click; children, Robyn Pinson (Anthony), Geoffrey Click (Ashley), and Mary Anne Davis (Cole); beloved grandchildren, Deacon, Cooper, Layne, Trey, Skylar, Paxtyn, and Ridley; sister, Dana Charlton; brother-in-law, Curt Weiffenbach (Becky); nieces, Jody and Sarah; nephews, Eric and Carl; as well as many cherished cousins.
Rob graduated from Model High School, Class of 1967, and went on to earn his degree from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) in 1973, where he became a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.
He began his career serving in the United States Army National Guard (KY) from 1970-73, while also working as an EMT with an ambulance service in Richmond, KY during his time at EKU. After moving to Columbus in 1973, Rob served in the Air Force Reserve (OH) from 1974-75 and began building a distinguished career in commercial real estate. His early professional years included roles with George G. Little and Associates and Seguin Thomas & Co.
As a respected leader in his field, Rob became actively involved with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), earning the Certified Property Manager (CPM) designation in 1979. His leadership roles included serving as Columbus Chapter President in 1989, Regional Vice President (OH/MI/KY/IN) from 1993 to 1994, Senior Vice President from 1998 to 2000, Executive Committee Member from 1998 to 2002, and a member of the Foundation Board of Directors from 2008 to 2009. In 2023, CBRE dedicated the Robert Oran Click CPM Scholarship to the Columbus IREM Chapter to assist future real estate professionals in obtaining their CPM. Rob cherished his IREM colleagues, many of whom became lifelong friends.
In 1998, Rob and his best friend and business partner, Terry Mathews, sold Mathews Click & Associates to CBRE and continued his career there where he held numerous leadership roles. During his tenure, he oversaw Brokerage, Valuation, Global Corporate Services, Real Estate Management, Leasing, Investment Properties, Project Management and Construction in the Columbus market. As Senior Managing Director he led the development of strategic accounts and managed acquisitions and dispositions across several national portfolios. Rob additionally served as chair of the CBRE 401(k) Committee. In 2005, he was the recipient of NAIOP’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Rob was deeply committed to his community. He served as Past Chair of both the Columbus Cancer Clinic and Lifecare Alliance and volunteered with Meals on Wheels for many years. In 2008, Lifecare presented Rob with the Catherine Nelson Black Philanthropic Spirit Award for his service. As a devoted member of Worthington United Methodist Church, he served on many committees to support the well-being of the church, and was a member of the Development Board at Eastern Kentucky University.
Rob enjoyed time spent with family and friends and was an active member and Past President of Brookside Golf & Country Club (Columbus, OH), as well as, a member of Coral Creek Club (Placida, FL). Some of his fondest memories shared with Amy, his family and friends have been spent on the golf course.
Rob will be remembered for his leadership, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family, profession, and community. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched.

Visiting Hours will be held at Brookside Golf & Country Club, 2770 W Dublin-Granville Rd, Columbus, OH 43235, from 4:00-6:00pm on Tuesday, May 5th. A Funeral Service will be held at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 N High St, Worthington, OH 43085, at 12:00pm on Wednesday, May 6th, followed by a private family burial. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather at Brookside Golf & Country Club again on Wednesday evening to celebrate Rob’s life from 4:30-7:30pm.
