Robert Phillip (Phil) Peoples, 84, loving husband, father and grandfather departed this world on February 16, 2022. He was born in Greenville, Ohio, on January 1, 1938, to Robert and Grace Lucille (Gladden) Peoples, who preceded him in death.
After graduating high school, Phil attended The Ohio State University, where he studied Business Administration. He met his wife, Esther Paula (Susie) Clay, and they married in 1960 and made their home in California, where he also served in the Army Reserves. They had two children, Paul and Michael, who preceded him in death.
Phil loved being his own boss and started many of his own businesses, including a sporting goods supplier, a doughnut shop and a medical supply company. Phil and Susie worked side-by-side over the years.
Phil enjoyed many hobbies, including watching NASCAR and reading voraciously. He was a diehard Buckeyes fan and never missed a chance to wear his scarlet and gray. Phil and Susie spent many years traveling across the country in their motorhome. Most of all, though, he loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending every sporting event and school activity. At family functions, he was often the one on the floor playing with the children.
Phil is survived by his wife, Susie Peoples; daughter-in-law, Traci Peoples; grandchildren Jessica (Michael) Workman, Mackenzie Taylor Peoples and Matthew (Christina) Peoples; and great-grandchildren, Everly and Asher Workman. He also leaves his loving sisters Patricia Schmidt and Phyllis Jolliff and their families and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be from 4:00pm - 7:00pm on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25th, 2022 at 10:00am, also at the funeral home. The family invites you to a luncheon reception at the funeral home immediately following the service.
