Sharon Edith Mathias

I, Sharon Edith (Mayo) Mathias, age 73, was born December 11, 1951 in Juneau, Alaska and died on December 19, 2024 in Columbus, OH. I was preceded in death by my parents, Ronald Ira Mayo of Brewer, Maine, and Laura Lee (Arms) Mayo of Celina, Tennessee, and my beloved husband of 41 years Dwight Delano Mathias who left me to the loving care of my family on January 2, 2017.

I am survived by Dwight’s sister Janis Hughes and her son Rick Held and my children: Harvey (Terry Lynn) Mathias and his daughters Michelle (Shane) Richardson and their daughter Violet and Alorah (Gareth) Smith and their children Amelia and River, Cassie (Mike) Oates and their daughter Mai Ly, Arielle, Caleb (JoAnna) and their children Clayton Hayes and Claire, Joe (Amanda) and their daughters Abigail and Zoey and my brother Ron (Pat) Mayo II and their sons Ronny (Gabby) and their children Daniel, Melody and Harmony, Ryan (Sarah) Mayo, Ross Mayo and daughter Rowan, Reid (Jessica) and their son Reid II and my brother Tom (Jan) Mayo and their daughters Maria and Laura Lee and her children Atiana, Dominic, Slevin (who was born December 11th 2014 on my birthday) and Ramaji. Also, my dear friends who helped me through life pleasantly: Penny, Julie, Marsha, Dorothy, Rekha and Peaches.

When I was little I learned this song in Sunday school “The Bible is the best book. God’s storybook for all, for mothers and for fathers, and for the children small.” I recommend this song as the #1 hit. My favorite hymn is “Be With Me Lord” (all four verses). If anyone has done anything against me you are forgiven and likewise, I pray. Thanks be to God and his son, our Savior Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit for all his benefits and all praise to him forever!

Celebration of Life will be at Fishinger & Kenny Church, 1130 Fishinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221 at 1:30 pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025 followed by traditional Scottish Bagpipe performance at Union Cemetery from 2:45 to 3:30 PM, with meal provided at Fishinger & Kenny Church afterwards.
