Stephanie Ann Mills

Stephanie Ann Mills passed away unexpectedly at home on January 29, 2024, at the age of 54. She was born October 1, 1969, in Columbus, OH. She was preceded in death by her father, Stephen T. Mills. She is survived by her mother Sandra (Peters) Mills, sister and brother-in-law Stacie and Brett Borger, niece Lindsay Borger, and nephew Ryan Borger, along with other dear family and friends.

Stephanie graduated from Pickerington High School in 1987 with many achievements, and also earned the Girl Scout Gold Award. She then graduated from Miami University with a B.A. degree in Political Science, and Ohio University with a B.S. in Ed. degree in Elementary Education. She had a fulfilling career as a teacher at Maize Elementary, Columbus City Schools, for over 25 years. Stephanie served and was well-respected as a Senior Faculty Representative for the Columbus Education Association, and was a member of the Ohio Education Association.

Stephanie was a kind and generous daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Stephanie enjoyed exploring family genealogy, and spent time learning and preserving her family history. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on the Muskingum River, and had a love of music, particularly music of the 60s and 70s. In her free time, Stephanie also loved to read, travel, enjoy the company of friends and family, play cards, talk politics and the Buckeyes, and bake delicious loaves of bread! Her laughter and witty sense of humor will be missed by all.

A funeral service will be held for Stephanie on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 4:00 PM, with visitation to follow from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. A private burial with family will follow in the future at Pataskala Cemetery.
