Trey Underwood

Trey Allen Underwood was born March 28th, 1999, in Westerville OH. Trey was surrounded by a large extended family and many friends from the start. Everyone who knew Trey as a young child knew he was special and remarked about his entertaining demeanor and social ‘flash’. He never met a stranger and could pick up a conversation with anyone and genuinely care about that person as a result.

Trey felt a higher calling and joined the Navy in 2019 and became an STS2 Petty Officer 2nd Class. He was a sonar technician aboard the USS Kentucky. He was honorably discharged from the Navy with numerous earned achievements. He made his family and his country proud.

Trey was a former student at Westerville North High School and Jackson High School. He was an attendee at both Kent State and Stark State Universities and was currently attending Columbus State University. He loved to learn and could talk endlessly about topics that interested him.

Trey loved being outdoors; especially hiking, canoeing and going on new adventures. He loved his Buckeyes and was an enthusiastic sports fan as well. He loved gaming and music and was an ardent geography and history buff.

He will be sorely missed by his mother Jennifer Reed and stepfather Tony DiFilippo, his father Michael Underwood and wife Robin; grandparents Darwin Roseman, Elizabeth Essman Roseman, Diana Johnson; siblings, Darkhesha, Tayla, and Katience; as well as a long list of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, fellow service members and all friends and acquaintances in general.

A very special light has dimmed but will never be forgotten or replaced. Forever in PEACE 11/18/2025.

Services will be held for all the family, friends, coworkers and service members that would like to attend. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, from 10AM until 12PM and a Funeral will follow at 12PM at the Schoedinger Worthington funeral home, 6699 North High St., Worthington OH, 43085. Burial to follow at the Resurrection Cemetery.
