Triceine Norine Custer

Triceine Norine Custer, age 84 of Powell, OH, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 20, 2022. Triceine was born on June 8, 1938 to the late Trice and Marie Thompson (Bloch) in Mansfield, OH. She graduated from Mansfield Madison High School in 1956. Triceine was married to James L. Custer on August 25, 1962 in Mansfield before moving to Dallas Center, IW. After moving back to Ohio, Triceine and Jim first lived in Wooster, then settled in the Columbus area in 1969 when Pastor Jim and she accepted the call to be the Lead Pastor at the Grace Brethren Church of Columbus. Triceine and Pastor Jim served Grace Brethren (Grace Polaris) Church and Worthington Christian Schools for over fifty years. The ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was the driving force in Triceine’s life. Her mission was to support her husband of sixty years, Pastor Jim, in his ministry and to support and serve her family, her church, and others. Triceine demonstrated God’s grace and love to everyone she met seeking to bring all to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Triceine is survived by: her husband, Pastor James L. Custer; her sons, Daniel Custer (Stephanie) of Galena, OH; Dr. Timothy Custer (Katie), of Lancaster, OH; and daughter, Johanna Mousa (Mark), of Westerville, OH. Triceine loved her eight granddaughters and two grandsons: Leah, Luke, and Hope Custer; Caroline, Audrey, and Ellen Mousa; and Jamie, Amanda, Abby, and Josh Custer.

Visitation hours with the family will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at the Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service for Triceine will be held at Grace Polaris Church on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the name of Triceine Custer to Grace Polaris Church or to Worthington Christian Schools.
