Wilbur Highley, 86, of Columbus passed away on August 9, 2023. He was born on December 18, 1936, in Dublin Township, to the late Kenneth and Ruth (McCristy) Highley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Gehle.
Wilbur was retired from the State of Ohio Consumer Analytical Laboratories. His hobbies included remodeling homes and Genealogy tracking of the Highley family.
Wilbur will be greatly missed by his wife, Mary Hilt; children, William (Patricia) Highley and Susan (Richard) Warren, granddaughter Mary E. (Betty) Phillips, and numerous extended family and close friends.
Wilbur’s internment will take place on May 28th, 2024, at11:00 AM at the Friends Chapel Cemetery, 9760 OH-118, Rockford, Mercer, Ohio 45882. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery, 3133 US-33, Rockford, Ohio 45882.
After the burial at Riverside Cemetery friends and family may gather at VFW Post 5713, 1118 West Logan Street, Celina, Ohio for food and remembrances.
