

Bill was a graduate of Ohio University, where he played freshman football, served as captain of the golf team, and earned the MAC championship award along with many other honors. He later earned a Master’s degree from The Ohio State University and remained a member of the Ohio State University Golf Club.
Bill devoted 35 years to Columbus Public Schools, serving as a teacher, guidance counselor, testing coordinator, and coach. Throughout his distinguished career, he impacted the lives of countless youths. Known for his warmth, kindness, honesty, and servant spirit, Bill made a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. He was also a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and a scratch golfer who remembered holes and shots forever.
Bill was preceded in death by parents Dorothy and Robert Monnett; and brother, Robert “Buck” Monnett (Ann). He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Monnett; sister, Mary (Jerry) Nichols; son, Michael Monnett; step daughter, Kristin (Geoffrey) Scott; Grandchildren, Regan and Cooper Monnett, David, John, and Lauren Scott.
Visitation will be held at Worthington Presbyterian Church, 773 North High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, on April 11, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am. A Memorial Service will follow at the same location on April 11, 2026, at 11:00 am.
