William P. Welsh

William “Bill” P. Welsh passed away in Columbus, Ohio on June 15th, 2025. Born June 28th 1936 in Youngstown, Ohio to Robert Lee Welsh and Matilda Kope, Bill attended St. Dominic’s Grade School and graduated from Ursuline High School in 1954. Bill served in the Marine Corps before attending Youngstown College. Bill and Catherine were married at St. Dominic Church on February 4th, 1961 and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. He worked for Trumbull Industries for 30 years before his retirement in 2008. Bill served as president of the Youngstown Credit Association.

Preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Welsh and sister-in-law Alice Welsh. Survived by wife Catherine Welsh, sons Gregory (Joan) Welsh and Daniel (Jen) Welsh; grandchildren Sarah (Ryan) Smerke, Maureen Welsh, Kathleen Welsh (fiancé Nathan Doyon), Michael Welsh (fiancé Amanda Johnson), Maddie (Christopher) Elderkin, and Matthew Welsh.

A Funeral Mass for William will be held Friday, July 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Dominic Catholic Parish, 77 E Lucius Ave, Youngstown, OH 44507. A graveside service will occur Friday, July 25, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at Calvary Cemetery, 248 S Belle Vista Ave, Youngstown, OH 44509.
