Alice Mae Blizard

On the morning of Monday, November 23, 2015 Alice Mae Blizard stepped into the welcoming arms of her Lord and Savior. Waiting in heaven was her husband of 62 years, James Wesley Blizard, her infant daughter Terry Lynn, and her son, John Wesley to celebrate her arrival. Alice leaves behind a legacy of love. She strived to conquer each day with a positive attitude that graced everyone around her. Her care and compassion for others overflowed from her strong devotion for her family, her friends, and her work as a NAC for St. Elizabeth Hospital (Providence) for over 45 years. Her ability to love uncontrollably, care for others unconditionally, and bake the world’s best pumpkin pie, made her the world’s best mother and grandmother for many.

Alice’s first priority was always her family, but a close second was her passion for shopping. Even at the age of 86, she could still out shop even the most seasoned shopper! Her sense of humor was delightful with a hint of sassiness, which came out while watching her favorite celebrity Judge Judy. Every person Alice met was an opportunity to make a new friend. Alice served our community in various capacities including the Red Hat Society, the Salvation Army, and assisting in church activities. As she leaves us to dance with the stars, her precious gift of love will carry on with her family, which includes her brother, Cecil (Grace) Curry of Chehalis, WA, children Jackie Archibald of Yakima, WA, Robin (John) Watkins of Yakima, WA, Jim Blizard of Yakima, WA, Tim (Liz) Blizard of Roseville, CA, along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends all of whom she loved dearly.

A public viewing will be held Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 1 to 5 pm. at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Monday, November 30, 2015 at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home, followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery. A reception will be held at Yakima Evangelical Church located at 7901 W. Nob Hill Blvd.
