It is with great sadness we announce the loss of our mother B. Jane Nielsen-Myers.
Mom was born June 14, 1934 in Springfield, MO to Otto and Elodie Hasting.
1 of 5 brothers and sisters, she attended school in Springfield, MO until graduating, where she loved learning and making friends.
After graduating she left Springfield for greener pastures, working different jobs until meeting the father of her four children, John H. Williams. After that union she didn’t work, she became a single parent.
She was working at SW. Steel in Lynwood, CA, where she met and married her 2nd husband Kaj Nielsen. her Great Dane and she was his champ. After the steel mill closed, he took a job at Cascade Steel in McMinnville, OR, where they made McMinnville their home. She became involved in her church and choir and The Gallery Theater, performing in many plays and making many new friends. A true Democrat and supporter. These were some of her happiest times until Whitey’s passing in 1996.
After being alone for 10 years she married her last husband Kenneth Myers whom she met through The Gallery Theater – He preceded her in death in 2024.
Mom leaves behind three of her four children Sandra Longie, Ellen Tryon and Steve Williams. Her sister Norma Hunt, plus many grandchildren and great grandchildren. All who loved her very dearly. She was a very social person and loved being involved, she also loved being a wife and taking care of her better half.
She was preceded in death by her eldest son, John H. Williams (21) which left her devastated, her spouse, her parents, and her siblings! This is not goodbye but we will see you later.
A Celebration of Life will be May 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm at McMinnville Coop Ministries, 544 NE 2nd St. McMinnville, OR.
A big thank you to Memorial Hospice- staff at Fieldstone and her church family.
