Beverly Dot Mondor was born May 21, 1939 in Yakima, WA. to Willis and Doris Mondor. Beverly spent her younger years growing up in Tampico, working for her dad in the hop fields, raising cattle and riding horses. She attended Tampico grade school and graduated from West Valley High School. After high school she attended Yakima Business College.
In July of 1959 Beverly and Frank Schultz eloped to Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho and honeymooned in Canada. Beverly was a lifelong avid horsewoman and loved to ride. She was on the Toppenish Rodeo and Yakima Sherriff’s Posse Rodeo Courts, active in play days and rodeos. While their kids were growing up Beverly raised Pekingese dogs and the family had Schultz’s Quarter Horses. The girls were active in horse shows and rodeos, Kirk in motorcycle racing, all being supported by Bev and Frank, traveling around Washington and Oregon.
Beverly was on the Klickitat County Fair Board as the Horse Division Leader. She was presented with the blue ribbon when her division won first place for the very first time. Beverly was a bluebird/campfire group leader and volunteered at the Centerville grade school, helping kids learn to read.
After retiring Frank and Bev travelled the lower 48 states with their RV and many friends. They spent many winter seasons at their home in Arizona, volunteering at the local goodwill store in Quartzsite, having potlucks and playing desert golf. She loved to come back to Yakima every spring to see family and friends.
