

Carlos H. DeJesus, 62, of Yakima passed away at Cottage in the Meadow in Yakima on January 6, 2015. He was born on July 19, 1952 in Eagle Pass, Texas; the son of Alicia H. Rodriguez-Huerta and Alfredo DeJesus.
Carlos attended St. Joseph grade school, Carroll High School, and after graduating, attended YVCC. He decided to step away from YVCC and began working for Jeld-Wen in White Swan for family reasons. He then had his first son in 1977 and his second son in 1986. During this time frame he had been married twice. He worked for Jeld-Wen for over 20 years until they closed down. He then relocated back to Yakima in 2001, where he worked for several employers before ending up at G.E. Aviation. During his last few years of life, he spent his time with his companion, Debbie Richardson.
Carlos enjoyed many things: fishing, gardening, catching his favorite sports on T.V. and especially cooking. During the summertime, his cooking was spent on the grill with family and friends. He enjoyed watching his grandson’s baseball games very much. He was a great father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was a loving, generous, funny and kind hearted individual. You were a strong and courageous man who your family and friends will deeply miss.
Carlos is survived by his two sons, Gabriel DeJesus and Carlos DeJesus Jr.; companion, Debbie Richardson; four brothers, Alfred DeJesus, X DeJesus, Arthur DeJesus and Billy DeJesus; three sisters, Alicia Zamora, Wvaldina DeJesus, and Matilda Garza; several nieces and nephews and five grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Alicia Rodriguez-Huerta; father, Alfredo DeJesus; sister, Alicia DeJesus; brother, Patricio DeJesus, and nephews Ramon Zamora and Phabian Garza.
