

She was born in Breckenridge, Minn., on May 20, 1937 to Cleva R. and Ida Martha (Ruediger)
Hiebert.
Her family moved from Wolverton, Minn. in 1943 to Antioch, Calif., where Carol attended
elementary school. In 1946, they moved to Moxee where Carol completed her education.
Carol met Donald Butler in February of 1957. They were married August 24, 1957 in Yakima,
Wash. Carol worked at DelMonte, Washington Fruit and Bayly Manufacturing, as well as caring
for their home and two sons, Gregory and Kevin.
She was a devoted member of Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church and attended on a regular
basis and helped with many church-related events.
Carol and Donald loved to travel and did so as often as they could after their retirement.
Carol is survived by her husband of 53 years, Donald E. Butler of Yakima; sons, Gregory D.
(Heidi) Butler of Burien and Kevin E. (Paula) Butler of Federal Way; two grandchildren and four
sisters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Langevin-
Mussetter Funeral Home, Yakima.
Graveside interment will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 20th at Terrace Heights
Memorial Park, followed by a Memorial service at 11:00 a.m., at Redeemer Evangelical
Lutheran Church, 10203 Tieton Dr., Yakima.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s name to Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran
Church, in care of Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, 1010 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA
