She was a well-loved bartender at Denny’s in Union Gap. Later, she worked for Jean’s Cottage Inn as a waitress, and made many friends. Her hobbies consisted of bowling, fishing, motorcycling trips, gambling and ocean vacations.
In her younger years, Carolyn was a model for several businesses, including Hillbilly Bread. She was the type of person to work hard and take care of her family. She kept an immaculate house and provided a safe, comfortable home for her children to grow up in.
Carolyn was very responsible, but also liked being playful. She was the type of mom that her children’s friends always thought was beautiful and cool! She also had a very beautiful singing voice and great smile.
She taught her children to be responsible, sensible, kind, grateful, respectful and considerate. She could be counted on to give great advice and support thru all of life’s ups and downs. She was always there for her loved ones. She showed them that when life was hard, you keep going, even when you want to give up – you do what you have to do.
She never complained about fighting cancer and all the struggles that come with it. She was truly a strong and faithful woman. She was an inspiration, in that she was a business owner, well-loved bartender and waitress, single working mom for a time, homeowner, volunteer and loving daughter and wife. There are really no words to properly express how much she will be missed, but perhaps this gives an idea:
And when I’m asked to recall
The greatest love of all
Then I shall have to say that
Most words won’t do
But still, when I’m asked to share
The love to which none can compare
Then I shall say that
I remember YOU
Love you to the moon and back grandma!
